A holistic way to improving your health.
Karen provides gentle, deeply relaxing and non-intrusive hands-on healing, which also encourages re-balancing.
What to expect? A full history will be taken on the first visit for a treatment. This is to enable the therapist to have a complete picture of your health and lifestyle, which will in turn help her to provide you with the appropriate level of treatment. Anything discussed will be completely confidential between you and your therapist. Using her knowledge and expertise she may also be able to recommend whether you would benefit from other types of therapy, depending on the outcome of your session.
Reflexology treatment applies precise massage to reflex areas on the feet which correspond to parts of the body. Firm pressure is applied to each reflex point and tenderness may be felt if the corresponding part of the body is not functioning properly. Although reflexology is a powerful therapy, it also offers a pleasant opportunity to relax.
Reflexology has its roots in ancient Egypt. Each organ and system of the body has a corresponding reflex point / zone on the feet. Pressure is used to massage each point to stimulate these areas – releasing tension and energy blockages which leads to the promotion of healing, both body and mind.
Reflexology is used to alleviate many disorders including migraine, sciatica, stress, depression, sleep - to name but a few.
REFLEXOLOGY LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE (RLD):
RLD is an award winning reflexology technique which focuses on stimulating the lymphatic reflexes on the feet. The aim is to cause an effect on the lymphatic system in the body, reducing secondary lymphoedema.
RLD is used to alleviate conditions other than lymphoedema and may be useful with the following conditions: Arthritis; Asthma; Eczema; Chronic fatigue; Fibromyalgia; ME; Sinus problems; Migraines; Headaches; Muscular tension; Aches and pains; PMS.....
Research in RLD continues to reap amazing results, for more information:
HOT STONE REFLEXOLOGY:
Hot Stone Reflexology uses the same process as a regular reflexology treatment, with the addition of the hot stones to promote circulation and intensify stimulation using heat. A great one for those chilly winter periods!
Reiki is a healing technique which uses life force energy to promote relaxation, well being and health on many levels. Reiki works like a flood of energy flowing through the hands of the therapist - dissolving energy blocks, increasing circulation on both subtle and physical levels and balances the bodies energy system.
Reiki is a combination of two Japanese words - Rei and Ki.
Rei = Universal Energy; Ki = Life Force Energy
Reiki is an ancient 'laying on of hands' healing technique that uses the life force energy to heal, by balancing the subtle energies within our bodies, and was developed by Mikao Usui in around 1922.
Life force energy flows through our bodies in a similar way to our blood. If the energy becomes blocked or disrupted, it causes weakness within the body, which in turn leaves us open to physical, mental or emotional conditions. Because Reiki is a clever energy, during a treatment, it automatically flows wherever there are imbalances.
